An Act to Continue the Exemption for Polystyrene Foam Disposable Food Service Containers Prepackaged at Wholesale

Complete·5/27/25

Maine LD1306 continues the exemption for polystyrene foam disposable food service containers prepackaged at wholesale.

Maine LD1306 amends the law regarding disposable food service containers. It repeals the definition of "disposable food service container" to exclude service ware used for raw, uncooked, or butchered meat, poultry, fish, seafood, or eggs. The bill also removes the repeal of the exemption for selling food or beverages in polystyrene foam disposable food service containers prepackaged at wholesale, effective July 1, 2025. This change retains the current exemption for these containers.
