This bill modifies the law for dedimus justices, setting a 7-year term, requiring notice of changes, and detailing resignation procedures.

This bill amends the law governing dedimus justices by establishing a 7-year term for their commissions, exempting those appointed before October 1, 2025. It mandates dedimus justices to notify the Governor and the Secretary of State of any changes in their name, residence, mailing address, email address, or telephone number. Additionally, it outlines the process for a dedimus justice to resign by submitting written notice to the Governor and the Secretary of State, with the resignation taking effect on the date of the notice.
