This bill repeals the existing laws in Maine that mandate broadband internet service providers to safeguard customer personal information from unauthorized use, disclosure, or access. It also eliminates the prohibition on providers using, disclosing, selling, or allowing access to customer personal information without explicit, affirmative consent from the customer.
