Complete·6/17/25

Directs the Attorney General to create a working group to expand treatment courts for substance use disorders, family issues, and veterans.

This resolve directs the Attorney General to establish a working group of stakeholders to develop a plan for expanding the availability of adult drug treatment courts, family treatment courts, and veterans treatment courts across Maine. The goal is to ensure that defendants in each prosecutorial district and county have access to these specialty court dockets. The Attorney General must submit a report with recommendations to the Joint Standing Committee on Judiciary by January 1, 2026. The committee may then report out legislation to the Second Regular Session of the 132nd Legislature.
