Aligns climate change protection plans and grid-enhancing technology reviews with Maine's integrated grid planning process.
This bill modifies the schedule for climate change protection plans and grid-enhancing technology reviews to synchronize with Maine's integrated grid planning process. Starting May 1, 2027, transmission and distribution utilities must submit a 10-year plan addressing climate change impacts on their assets. The Public Utilities Commission must review available grid-enhancing technology in 2027, updating a previous review from 2025, and then every years thereafter. The commission can produce a report on identified technologies, which may be used in rate cases or other proceedings.
