This bill creates a special retirement plan for firefighters employed by the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management at Bangor International Airport. The plan allows these firefighters to retire after completing a specified number of years of service, regardless of age. The plan is effective from October 1, 2025, and applies to firefighters hired on or after July 1, 1998, provided the Federal Government covers the full employer cost of their participation in the retirement system.
