An Act to Establish Transparency in Opioid Settlement Funds Allocated to Municipalities or Counties

Failed·4/29/25
Tpdf Text

Establishes annual reporting requirements for municipalities or counties receiving opioid settlement funds.

The bill mandates that municipalities or counties, referred to as "direct share subdivisions," which receive funds from opioid crisis litigation settlements must submit an annual report to the Attorney General. This report must detail the amount of funds received and expended in the prior calendar year, including a description of each expenditure. The first report is due by January 15, 2026, with subsequent reports due annually thereafter. The term "direct share subdivision" is defined as a municipality or county identified in the Memoranda of Understanding.
