LD1232

Maine LD1232 mandates radon testing for new commercial and residential construction and improvements to commercial structures requiring a building.

Maine LD1232 requires a radon permit for new commercial and residential construction and for improvements or alterations to a commercial structure requiring a building permit. A registered individual must apply for the permit, conduct testing to determine the presence of radon, and if necessary, implement radon mitigation measures. Exemptions apply to residential construction in municipalities without a building code and to homeowners performing more than 50% of the labor for framing and finishing the structure.
