This bill creates a monitoring program for air and water temperatures around solar energy developments in Maine. The Department of Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, will establish, adopt rules for, and administer the program. The rules must include provisions on the scope of monitoring and sharing information with operators. "Solar energy development" is defined as a development using ground-mounted solar panels to convert solar energy to electrical energy for sale or use by a person other than the generator.
