Tpdf Text

Establishes a grant program for schools to contract behavioral and mental health services, funded by the Department of Education.

The bill creates a grant program for school administrative units to contract behavioral and mental health services. These grants are for services not covered by MaineCare and must not replace existing school staff. Funding is based on the number of clinicians needed, at $20,000 per clinician until July 1, 2027, and $25,000 thereafter. The bill allocates $3,000,000 for fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27.
