LD116

Maine LD116 prohibits the use of piercing guns for body piercings.

Maine LD116 amends the state's statutes to prohibit the use of piercing guns for creating body piercings. The bill defines "body piercing" as creating an opening in the body for inserting jewelry or decoration, excluding earlobe piercings with a disposable stud or solid needle. The use of a piercing gun, a mechanical device that forces a needle or stud through the body, is explicitly banned. This measure aims to regulate the practice of body piercing more strictly.
