Maine LD1158 expands appliance and product energy and water standards by prohibiting sales of certain new appliances.

Maine LD1158 expands the list of appliances and products that cannot be sold in Maine if they do not meet certain energy and water standards. The bill adds commercial battery chargers, dishwashers, food steamers, fryers, ovens, computer server power supplies, gas fireplaces, residential ventilating fans, and water softeners to the list of prohibited items. These restrictions apply to appliances manufactured on or after January 1, 2027.
