Establishes a student wage for secondary school students at 50% of the state's minimum wage.
This bill sets the minimum hourly wage for secondary school students at 50% of the state's minimum wage for a period of at least one year, starting from their first day of employment. This wage rate applies unless the student graduates from secondary school, at which point they must be paid the full minimum wage. The definitions of "secondary student" and "secondary school" are taken from Title 20-A, section 1, subsections 1 and 32.
