LD1081

Maine LD1081 mandates that municipalities designate daily hours for accepting and processing general assistance applications, ensuring these hours.

Maine LD1081 amends the law to ensure that each municipality designates specific daily hours for accepting and processing general assistance applications. These hours must constitute at least 50% of the municipality's regular business hours. Additionally, the bill requires local offices to prominently display information about these hours, the name of the overseer available for emergency applications, and the department's toll-free number for reporting violations. This change aims to enhance access to general assistance by clearly defining when and where applications can be submitted.
