This bill allows the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services to release a deceased person's military records to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner for suicide reporting and prevention. This release is authorized upon request by an authorized representative of the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in the conduct of official duties. The purpose of this release is to aid in suicide reporting and prevention efforts.
