Amends Maine Metallic Mineral Mining Act to enhance health equity and well-being of vulnerable populations.

The bill amends the Maine Metallic Mineral Mining Act to advance health equity and improve the well-being of vulnerable populations. It requires mining permit applicants to submit a human health impact assessment identifying potential emissions and effects from mining operations that can harm human health, particularly vulnerable populations. The assessment must include baseline health data for the surrounding population. The bill also mandates environmental impact assessments for proposed mining operations, detailing natural and artificial features in the mining and affected areas.
