LD1055

Maine LD1055 prohibits discrimination in organ transplant services based on disability.

Maine LD1055 prohibits health care facilities and providers from denying medical services or coverage for organ transplants to individuals solely based on their disability. It mandates that health care facilities and providers make reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and procedures to allow individuals with disabilities access to transplantation-related services. The bill also allows affected individuals to seek injunctive or equitable relief in Superior Court if a health care facility or provider violates the antidiscrimination provision.
