Establishes a 180-day state residency requirement for receiving municipal general assistance in Maine.
This bill amends Maine law to require applicants for municipal general assistance to prove they have been physically present in the state for at least 180 days before applying. Acceptable proof includes tax returns, utility bills, contracts, or documents from governmental entities. The bill repeals existing law and replaces it with this new residency requirement.
