Allows time-share associations to charge credit card surcharges if disclosed and cost-based.
The bill permits time-share associations or managing entities to impose a surcharge on credit card or debit card payments, provided the surcharge is clearly disclosed to the time-share owner before payment and does not exceed the costs associated with the credit card or debit card service. The surcharge cannot be imposed on debit card transactions. The association must inform the owner that the surcharge can be avoided by using cash, check, or other non-card payment methods.
