Failed·4/8/25
Tpdf Text

Maine LD1030 prevents consumer reporting agencies from reporting medical debt on consumer reports under specific conditions.

Maine LD1030 amends the state's consumer reporting laws to prohibit consumer reporting agencies from reporting debt from medical expenses on a consumer's report if the consumer was covered by a health plan at the time of the event causing the medical expenses and the debt is for an outstanding balance owed for emergency medical treatment or treatment in a health care facility for an out-of-network benefit claim. This protection applies after copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance have been applied.
