Allows federal civil service to count for Maine Public Employees Retirement System benefits.
This bill permits members of the Maine Public Employees Retirement System who previously worked for the federal employment service to buy service credit for their federal employment period. The credit is limited to the years served before joining the Maine system. Payment must be made before retirement benefits become effective, either as a single payment or in annual installments.
