Prohibits reporting of parents' medication-assisted treatment to child protective services when there is no evidence of abuse or neglect.

This bill amends Maine law to prevent health care providers and mandated reporters from notifying child protective services when a parent is receiving medication-assisted treatment, provided there is no evidence of child abuse or neglect. If an infant is born with substance use or withdrawal symptoms due to the parent's medication-assisted treatment, and there is no evidence of abuse or neglect, the health care provider must develop a care plan for the infant but cannot notify the department. The department is prohibited from taking any further action based on such a notification.
