Louisiana SB507 requires the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) to establish a uniform process for determining when a student is nonenrolled due to incarceration or unknown whereabouts. This process must include documented efforts to locate the student and verify their enrollment status. Students determined to be nonenrolled under this process will not be counted as enrolled for state accountability systems. The process must comply with federal law, including the Every Student Succeeds Act. Effective August 1, 2026.
