Louisiana SB494 modifies the District Attorneys' Retirement System to adjust benefits for reemployed retirees.

Louisiana SB494 amends the District Attorneys' Retirement System to change how benefits are calculated for retirees who are reemployed. If a retiree is reemployed for 60 months or more, their supplemental benefit is based on their final average compensation during the reemployment period. Retirees reemployed for less than 60 months receive a supplemental benefit based on the lesser of their original retirement compensation or their reemployment compensation.
