The bill creates the School Safety Drone Response Pilot Program, allowing the Department of Education to evaluate drone technology as a supplement to existing school safety and law enforcement response protocols. Participating schools must provide mapping data to the selected vendor, subject to confidentiality laws. The program will be conducted as part of existing crisis management and response plans. The department can select up to four schools on a first-come, first-serve basis.
