Louisiana SB482 mandates that career coaches assist public middle and high school students and their parents in creating an individualized graduation plan. This plan must be signed by the student, parent or legal guardian, and school counselor. The bill also allows public school boards to form regional consortia to share the costs of contracting with career coaches. The Department of Education must annually publish a list of high-quality career coaching vendors and boards that have not spent more than 95% of the career development fund dollars.
