Louisiana SB465 establishes standards for health insurance issuers to process claims and pay healthcare providers. It mandates that nonelectronic claims submitted within 45 days of service must be paid, denied, or pended within 30 days. Claims submitted after 45 days must be processed within 60 days. Electronic claims must be paid within 25 days. The bill also requires health insurance issuers to provide written notice to providers within two business days if a claim is pended.
