Louisiana SB455 amends the Parochial Employees' Retirement System to allow district and parish courts to submit plans for employee membership. The board of trustees can approve these plans even if they do not cover all services or employees. Employees of these courts who are currently in another public retirement plan and have not retired or used the deferred retirement option plan can make an irrevocable election to join the Parochial Employees' Retirement System by January 1, 2027. The system must provide necessary forms for this election.
