SB427

Louisiana SB427 amends the Anatomical Gift Act to clarify procedures and methods for executing anatomical gifts.

Louisiana SB427 amends the Anatomical Gift Act to establish procedures and methods for executing anatomical gifts. It prohibits state agencies from soliciting anatomical gift authorizations or refusals from minors without parental or guardian consent. It also defines terms such as "anatomical gift," "authorization," and "refusal." The bill outlines methods for making anatomical gifts, including through a signed document, a will, or a communication during a terminal illness. It specifies that a refusal to make an anatomical gift has the same legal effect as an anatomical gift.
