Louisiana SB395 authorizes the state to expropriate property owned by certain Chinese entities.

Louisiana SB395 provides that when a property is owned by the country of China, the Chinese Communist Party, a corporation incorporated in China, or a person who is a citizen of China, the state will expropriate the property. This action will be considered an exercise of state governmental powers and necessary for a public purpose under the Louisiana Constitution. The law takes effect on August 1, 2026.
