Complete·5/29/26

Louisiana SB39 provides for the licensed profession of massage therapy, including a provisional license for graduates.

Louisiana SB39 amends the state's regulations to provide for the licensed profession of massage therapy. It allows graduates of state-approved Louisiana-based schools for massage therapy to obtain a provisional license immediately upon graduation. This provisional license is active for a three-month term and cannot be renewed. Facilities employing provisionally licensed massage therapists must notify clients of the therapist's licensure status before providing services. Provisionally licensed massage therapists can only work at facilities that employ a licensed massage therapist.
