Louisiana SB376 establishes the Learn and Earn Act, authorizing career practicums on public high school campuses for work-based learning.

Louisiana SB376, known as the Learn and Earn Act, allows local public school boards to establish career practicums on public high school campuses. These practicums offer compensated, credit-bearing work-based learning aligned with approved career pathways. The act mandates that these programs operate under cooperative endeavor agreements, ensuring they serve a valid public purpose and provide fair market value in return. Student participants must earn academic credit, receive wages at or above the minimum wage, and undergo required safety training.
