Louisiana SB372 allows the insurance commissioner to examine pharmacy benefit manager records for transparency report accuracy.

Louisiana SB372 amends the pharmacy benefit manager law to allow the insurance commissioner to examine the books and records of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to ensure the accuracy of their annual transparency reports. The commissioner can access any information necessary, including details on payments made by health insurance issuers to PBMs for drugs, devices, or services. The commissioner can also examine records of entities within the PBM's corporate vertical structure, such as insurers, pharmacies, and providers. This law takes effect on August 1, 2026.
