Re-creates the Department of Agriculture and Forestry in Louisiana, effective June 30, 2026.
Louisiana SB349 re-creates the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and its statutory entities, effective June 30, 2026. This law supersedes the "sunset" law, which previously required a separate bill to re-create each statutory entity within the department. The new termination date for the department is set for July 1, 2031, with operations beginning to terminate on July 1, 2030. The bill also repeals a conflicting provision in R.S. 49:191(1)(k).
