Louisiana SB285 modifies the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority's composition by altering the nominating authority for one member. The bill retains the existing structure of the authority, which includes two nonvoting members and seven voting members. The mayor of Shreveport appoints the voting members, subject to city council confirmation. The bill changes the nominating authority for one member from a state senator representing District 37 to a state senator representing District 38. This change takes effect on August 1, 2026.
