Complete·6/1/26

Louisiana SB276 establishes procedures for appointing bail bond producers, including affidavits, cancellation, and appeals.

Louisiana SB276 enacts R.S. 22:1558.1, detailing the appointment process for bail bond producers. Before receiving an appointment, a bail bond producer must submit an affidavit stating they do not owe any premium or unsatisfied judgment to any insurer and agree to discharge all outstanding forfeitures and judgments on bonds previously written. If the producer fails to satisfy or discharge all forfeitures or judgments, a former insurer must notify the appointing insurer, the producer, and the commissioner.
