Louisiana SB275 mandates that health insurers provide reimbursement to certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) for services within their lawful scope of practice at no less than the amount reimbursed for the same service by a physician. This applies to any new policies, contracts, or health coverage plans issued after January 1, 2027, with existing plans required to conform by their renewal date, but no later than January 1, 2028. Insurers are also prohibited from denying participation or network inclusion to CRNAs based solely on their provider type or licensure.
