Louisiana SB274 requires lead hazard risk assessments for certain child care facilities and prekindergarten programs. The bill replaces inspections with risk assessments conducted by risk assessors for facilities first placed in operation after August 1, 2012. The results of these assessments must be submitted to the Department of Environmental Quality, the Department of Education, and the Louisiana Department of Health. The state health officer is required to compile and report these findings to the legislature annually.
