Complete·6/1/26

Louisiana SB259 authorizes the creation of an online portal for filing civil protective orders.

Louisiana SB259 enacts a new provision allowing the judicial administrator's office to develop and implement a statewide portal for online applications for protective orders. This portal will enable petitioners to file online petitions for any protective order authorized by current law. The proposed law retains existing requirements for written affirmations, except for petitions filed through the online portal, which will no longer require an affirmation before a witness.
