Removes the requirement that certain fishing tags include the social security number of the tag holder.

Louisiana SB257 removes the requirement that certain fishing tags include the social security number of the tag holder. The bill retains the prohibition against issuing a tag to a person who does not have a social security number. This change applies to tags for pompano strike nets used in commercial fishing for species like black drum, sheepshead, and flounder. The amendment takes effect on August 1, 2026.
