Louisiana SB245 requires the Louisiana Department of Health, office of behavioral health to develop a comprehensive plan to prevent veteran suicides. This plan includes connecting veterans to ongoing, barrier-free care and utilizing non-traditional, high-impact interventions that can rapidly stabilize post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms. The department must submit the plan to the legislature by January 1, 2027. Effective August 1, 2026.
