Louisiana SB189 amends existing law to prohibit the intentional release or dispersion of chemicals into the environment with the express purpose of affecting temperature. This includes the burning of fuel in an aircraft engine. Exceptions are made for the use of fire retardants, fire suppressants, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other substances for agriculture or forestry purposes. The law takes effect on August 1, 2026.
