Louisiana SB183 creates the Reserve Fund as a special fund in the state treasury.
Louisiana SB183 establishes the Reserve Fund as a special fund in the state treasury. The fund allows for the deposit of monies transferred, donated, or appropriated by the legislature. Any interest earned on investments in the fund is credited back to it. Withdrawals from the fund are only permitted through legislative appropriation. The fund's unexpended and unencumbered monies remain in the fund at the end of each fiscal year. The bill becomes effective upon the governor's signature or if not vetoed, upon the lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
