Louisiana SB181 exempts nonprofit healthcare organizations from needing a license to hold certain games of chance.
Louisiana SB181 exempts nonprofit healthcare organizations from needing a license to hold certain games of chance, such as raffles, bingo, and keno. These organizations must still notify the office of charitable gaming annually of the names of such organizations. The bill also adds the definition of "nonprofit healthcare organization" to mean any organization that provides healthcare services, together with their parent organizations, affiliates, subsidiaries, and foundations, that is licensed or chartered in this state and is exempt from federal and state taxation.
