Louisiana SB18 repeals exceptions for retirement benefits of retirees who return to part-time employment.

Louisiana SB18 repeals exceptions for retirement benefits of retirees who return to part-time employment. The bill amends R.S. 11:1762(A) to clarify that retirees receiving normal retirement benefits who return to employment must have their benefits reduced if their monthly earnings exceed the difference between their monthly average final compensation and their monthly retirement benefit. Retirees with more than thirty years of creditable service and who are at least age sixty can return to employment without a benefit reduction until June 30, 2028.
