Louisiana SB179 defines the territorial jurisdiction of the Jeanerette City Court in Iberia Parish.

Louisiana SB179 establishes the territorial jurisdiction of the Jeanerette City Court to include specific precincts in Iberia Parish. The court's jurisdiction extends to Precincts 10-1, 10-4, 11-6, 12-1, 12-2, 12-3, 12-4, and the portion of Precinct 11-1 west of Lake Fausse Point's shoreline. Outside the city of Jeanerette, the court shares concurrent jurisdiction with the justice of the peace in cases where the justice of the peace would have jurisdiction. Effective August 1, 2026.
