Louisiana SB176 amends existing law to clarify the commissioner's authority to suspend or revoke authorization for prescribed burns.

Louisiana SB176 amends existing law to clarify that the commissioner has the authority to suspend or revoke authorization for prescribed burns after investigating complaints. The commissioner must investigate complaints about prescribed burns and may suspend or revoke authorization for those found in violation of the prescribed burn requirements or rules and regulations. This change takes effect on August 1, 2026.
