Louisiana SB152, known as the Cell Cultured Food Products Act, prohibits the manufacturing, distribution, sale, or offering for sale of cell cultured food products for human consumption in Louisiana. The law defines cell cultured food products as any cultured animal tissue produced from in vitro animal cell cultures outside of the organism. Violations of this law are subject to a civil penalty of up to $500 for each day of violation. Penalties are assessed by the commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry based on an adjudicatory hearing.
