Louisiana SB140 allows multiple successions of spouses or siblings to be opened in a single proceeding.

Louisiana SB140 amends the Code of Civil Procedure to allow the same proceeding to open the successions of more than one deceased person, provided they were spouses or siblings at the time of death and the court has jurisdiction over each succession. This change is effective August 1, 2026.
