These boxes must meet basic commercial applications standards for anti-theft alarms and devices and contain copies of building keys or key cards, printed maps, and school mapping data. The boxes' locations are to be determined by the school board in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies. The law also mandates that school mapping data not be subject to the Public Records Law.
